Bullard out for six weeks
INJURY-PLAGUED Hull midfielder Jimmy Bullard has received a dose of festive cheer after learning his latest knee problem is not as bad as first feared.
Bullard, who has twice suffered cruciate ligament damage, left the pitch in tears against Aston Villa on Saturday.
It sparked fears that the 31-year-old had sustained another career-threatening injury, just weeks after his latest comeback. But Hull manager Phil Brown revealed last night that Bullard has only sprained ligaments, meaning he could be back in action in six weeks.
“Jimmy is going to be out between six and eight weeks, a totally separate injury to anything he has had before,” said Brown. “It’s a medial ligament sprain, not connected with anterior cruciate ligament. On the negative front we are losing a very good player for six weeks, but on the other side it could have been a lot longer.”
