Bob Diamond sends first tweet on daughter Nell’s wedding day
What a weekend it was for Bob Diamond. The ex-Barclays boss watched his daughter Nell get married to fellow finance bod Teddy Wasserman, and (more importantly) he popped his Twitter cherry – sending his first tweet ever, having joined the social networking site back in July.
“Father of the Bride @nelliediamond #nellandteddy,” he tweeted, with a snap of him and Nell and another chap.
He followed his inaugural message with a retweet of designer Prabal Gurung’s tweet about one of Nell’s three wedding dresses – designed by him. “Mrs.W is an exquisite bride in our gown, isn’t she?” cooed Gurung.

The wedding took place in Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc, in Antibes, France. The ceremony happened at sunset and was followed by a huge firework display over the sea.
Diamond’s new Atlas Mara business partner Ashish Thakkar also tweeted a selection of photos from the lavish event. “A stunning setting for a stunning couple! Truly a magical wedding!” he said.
Nell Diamond is an avid tweeter, something most of us noticed when she sent a series of tweets defending her father after he was ousted from Barclays in 2012 – you may remember she told George Osborne and Ed Miliband to “go ahead and #HMD,” an elegant American acronym which means … well, you can look it up.
The newly-wedded Wassermans’ gift list is conveniently still online, so there’s time to buy them a pressie if you feel that way inclined.
Most of the cheaper items have been bought already though. The most affordable item still on the list is a white and gold embossed bread and butter plate – it’s $150 (but they want 10 so it will add up quickly).
