Bendtner and Denilson net Gunners deals
ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has again put his faith on his young brigade by handing 21-year-old pair Nicklas Bendtner and Denilson new long-term deals.
Danish striker Bendtner scored 15 goals for the Gunners in all competitions last season, while Brazilian midfielder Denilson made more starts for the Gunners than any other player, 49 in all.
Wenger has added just Thomas Vermaelen to his squad this summer despite losing Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City. But his faith in his youngsters has been rewarded with an encouraging start to the season, the only defeat being the narrow 2-1 defeat at Manchester United.
• Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Ashley Cole has signed a new four-year deal to keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2013.
The left-back, who has won 74 England caps, has made 135 appearances for the Blues since joining from Arsenal in August 2006.
