Bellew primed for second world title challenge against Stevenson
MANDATORY challenger Tony Bellew is set for his first world title fight in two years when he takes on light-heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson of Canada in Quebec City next month.
The Liverpool boxer will meet Stevenson at the 15,000-capacity Colisee de Quebec.
Bellew, a former British and Commonwealth champion, will turn 31 on the night of the fight, November 30, and is his second shot at world title glory following a narrow defeat to Nathan Cleverly in his hometown in November 2011.
Victory over Isaac Chilemba at the O2 Arena in May earned Bellew the fight against 36-year-old Stevenson, who beat Chad Dawson to win the title in June and has scored 19 knockouts in 22 career wins.
Bellew tweeted: “I’ve worked too hard for too long not to leave here with them belts on 30 November.”
