Belgium remains on high alert and Brussels will be locked down for the third day as the threat of Paris-style attacks remains “imminent”
Brussels will remain on lockdown with highest level of terror alert on Monday because of the "serious and imminent" threat of Paris-style attacks.
Belgium's prime minister Charles Michel said universities, schools and the metro would remain closed tomorrow.
Brussels has been on lockdown all weekend, amid a manhunt for suspected Islamic State attacker Salah Abdeslam, who is believed to have returned to Brussels following the killing of 130 civilians in Paris last week on 13 November.
Interior Minister Jan Jambon told Belgian TV station VRT Abdeslam was not the only police were hunting for: "This is several suspects, which is why we have introduced such a concentration of resources.
"We are following the situation minute by minute. There is no point in trying to hide it. There is a real threat, but we are making every effort day and night to cope with this situation."
People in the Belgian capital have been warned to avoid crowds, shopping centres, public transport stations and concerts, and soldiers joined police officers on patrols in Brussels over the weekend.
The terror threat for the rest of Belgium has been left at three out of four, implying a "possible or probable" threat.
Police in France have issued a fresh appeal to identify one of the Paris attackers, who was killed at the Stade de France.
