Asian growth helps Robert Walters gain
BUSINESS recruitment group Robert Walters said yesterday it had seen solid growth in the second quarter, and announced plans for further expansion into fast-growing markets across Asia.
Overall net fee income at the group rose 23 per cent year on year, with 28 per cent growth in Asia in the three months to 30 June.
“The group performed well across all regions during the second quarter,” said chief executive Robert Walters. “This has been largely driven by our international businesses, which now represent 75 per cent of the group’s net fee income.”
Walters, who founded the company in 1985, also said that he was planning to open new offices in Indonesia, Taiwan and Germany over the next six months, to reflect solid growth in those regions.
Asia-Pacific, including the company’s recently opened offices in Nanjing and Ho Chi Minh City, now accounts for more than half of Robert Walters’ total income.
Just a quarter of the group’s revenue now comes from its UK market, with a further 20 per cent from mainland Europe.
