Arsenal to win at Watford but will be made to work hard for it
Arsenal's habit of bursting out the blocks and stumbling over the line has been a hard one to shift.
Almost as difficult as Arsene Wenger has found shaking off the Emirates dissenters.
The ‘Wenger Out’ brigade can point to a disastrous start in Europe, where the Gunners are staring at group stage elimination, and another confusing summer in the transfer market.
However, things aren’t going too badly in the Premier League.
The 3-0 win against Manchester United showed just how good Arsenal can be. If they can consistently replicate that level over the remaining 30 games then they will be serious challengers for the title.
History shows that is a big ‘if’, but I see no reason why they won’t carry their form into tomorrow’s early evening TV game against Watford.
Arsenal make the short journey up the M1 as 8/13 favourites with Sportingbet and they should fully justify that tag.
Their away record is good, having won three of their four road trips.
Watford’s results so far have been respectable, but about what you would expect against the opponents they have faced. With four draws to their name, they have kept their games tight.
The total of 13 goals seen in Watford’s games is comfortably the lowest in the league and the 2-0 defeat at the Etihad is their only match so far settled by more than a single goal, so I don’t think it’ll be a walkover.
I’m backing Arsenal to win 1-0 at 6/1 with Sportingbet and I’d rather sell total goals with Sporting Index at 2.85 than buy Arsenal’s supremacy at 1.2.
