Apple expands “Reuse and Recycle” programme to let people trade in their broken iPhone
Apple is finally letting iPhone owners cash in their broken models to upgrade to the latest version.
The tech giant is expanding its so-called “Reuse and Recycle” programme to allow customers to sell their broken phones for credit they can then use to upgrade to a new phone.
Previously, this programme was limited to phones only up to a certain amount of damage, but now phones with cracked screens, broken cameras or buttons will also be covered, according to a report in 9to5mac.
If it’s completely broken, you can’t get any money for it, but they will let you recycle it with them.

“Even if your equipment isn’t functional or doesn’t have any value, you can recycle your iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac, PC or smartphone responsibly through Apple for free,” according to company’s site.
Apple’s goal with the expanded recycle programme is clear: Sell more iPhones as customers are enticed to buy a new model rather than just repair the old one.
The firm is heavily dependent on iPhone sales, and investors have been fearing a slowdown. Last week, Apple predicted its first revenue decline in over a decade to come this quarter, as iPhone sales growth has fallen to its slowest rate ever.
