GAY-TMs and London’s French Riviera
ANYONE using one of Barclays’ ATMs come the last week in June could be in for a colourful surprise. The bank has announced it’ll be sponsoring the Pride in London festival again this year, becoming headline sponsor for the first time. In celebration, it plans to create a gaggle of GAY-TMs along the parade route. What the blue-blazes is a GAY-TM? A rainbow decorated cash machine, of course. It also plans to introduce Ping for Pride, a service allowing Barclays customers to donate to Pride via the bank’s Pingit app. The Pride festival is held each year to celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community and runs from 22 – 29 June this summer. It certainly promises to be a vibrant time for Barclays.
IT’S BEEN a balmy weekend in London but for any City-types still yearning to repeat those sun-soaked days at the annual Cannes property jaunt that is Mipim, City-haunts Coq d’Argent and Le Pont de la Tour will be transforming themselves into the French Riviera for the summer (well, as much as possible). According to lifestyle guide Urbanologie, “Yacht d’Argent” (see what they did there?) is open now until September and “Pont Plage,” Le Pont de la Tour’s beach inspired terrace on the Thames, will be open for sun-seekers from 4 June. Also adding a touch of sun into City schedules is the annual Global ABS Conference, which heads back to its pre-crash haunt of Barcelona for the first time since 2007. Roll on 10 June, andale, andale!
