Alcott retires from racing
FOUR-TIME Winter Olympic skier Chemmy Alcott will race for the last time at the British Alpine Championships later this month, she said yesterday.
The 31-year-old will not race competitively beyond the Championships in Meribel, which begin on 29 March, but refused to formally retire.
Alcott said: “It is with a really heavy but happy heart that I relinquish my role of a ski racer.
“I’m not going to retire. I’m a skier and will always be a skier. I still have much to offer.”
