Huawei reviews Fedex relationship after packages diverted
Chinese telecoms giant Huawei is reviewing its relationship with Fedex, the US delivery company, after it claimed the firm diverted two parcels from Asia to the US.
Huawei said that Fedex rerouted two deliveries sent from Japan to Huawei addresses in China to the US, and attempted to divert two more from Vietnam without authorisation.

The four packages only contained documents and no technology, Reuters reported, and neither Huawei or Fedex could explain why the parcels were diverted.
“The recent experiences where important commercial documents sent via FedEx were not delivered to their destination, and instead were either diverted to, or were requested to be diverted to, Fedex in the United States, undermines our confidence,” a Huawei spokesperson said.
“We will now have to review our logistics and document delivery support requirements as a direct result of these incidents.”
Earlier this month the US placed Huawei on a trade blacklist effectively banning American firms from doing business with the company.

The ban saw tech firms across the US and Europe review their trading relationships with Huawei, including Google, Qualcomm and and Arm.
Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei yesterday insisted that China should not retaliate against the measures, despite admitting that the ban would slow the firm's growth.
