You want fries with that? Metro Bank opens a drive-thru branch
METRO Bank is bringing a little slice of American life to London, with its first drive-thru bank offering customers cash “from the comfort of their cars”.
Customers will be able to pay in cheques and withdraw cash at two drive-thru windows, staffed by cashiers in a retail park in Southall.
The drive-thru branch will be open seven days a week from Friday.
The challenger bank, the first new high street bank in Britain for 100 years, was launched in 2010 by American businessman Vernon Hill and is reported to be gearing up for a flotation next year.
James Baughan, regional director at Metro Bank, said: “We want to give customers unparalleled convenience, even from the seat of their car.”
