Woods targets end to Major drought and world No1 spot
RESURGENT former world No1 Tiger Woods is convinced he will add to his haul of 14 Majors as he aims to end his four-year drought tomorrow at the Open.
Victory at Royal Lytham and St Anne’s would cap a return to form this year following his spectacular fall from grace and could restore him to the top of the rankings.
“I just try and put myself there. I think that if I continue putting myself there enough times then I’ll win major championships,” said Woods. “I missed four Majors just because I was injured. If I’m healthy I can prepare properly for major championships and I can get myself there.”
Woods, a three-time Claret Jug winner, has not landed a Major since the 2008 US Open.
