Avoca Capital
The European credit investment manager has appointed Stephen Holland as director of sales and marketing. Holland will spearhead Avoca’s growth in North America. Most recently he was business development manager for Abbey Capital, a Dublin-based hedge fund. He has also served as head of sales for Bank of Ireland Asset Management.
BlackRock
The investment management firm has announced the appointment of Cliff Speed as managing director and senior strategist within its multi-asset client solutions group. Speed joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was senior actuary in the pensions and insurance team. He has also previously served as investment director for Paternoster, the specialist buy-out provider.
Moorhouse
Transformation specialists, Moorhouse, has appointed Nick Woodward as sector lead for energy and utilities. Woodward has over twenty years experience leading transformation consultancies, and has held senior positions at Fujitsu, PA Consulting and Logica.
Baker Tilly
Alex Davies has joined accountancy and business advisory firm as a forensic services director. He will be responsible for undertaking forensic investigations and integrity due diligence. Davies was previously director in the forensic services practice at Deloitte, where he co-founded and co-led the business intelligence practice. He has also worked as a consultant for a boutique investigations firm.
Saffery Champness
The accountancy firm has promoted three to its partnership. Pete Hackleton will become a tax partner in its London office. He joined from RSM Tenon as a corporate tax senior manager a year ago. Mike Strong will become an audit partner. He joined Saffery in 2004 as an audit manager from KPMG. Jeremy Ellis becomes a partner in the Guernsey office.
Lewis Silkin
The City law firm has appointed Paul Rymer as a partner in its media, brands and technology team. He joins Lewis Silkin from serving as principal of his own firm, Rymer Media Law, which he established in 2009. His previous roles include director of legal and business affairs at Icon Entertainment International, managing director of Ruby Films, and partner at Marriott Harrison.
Forte Energy
International uranium company, Forte Energy, has announced that James Leahy has joined the board as non-executive director. Leahy has more than twenty six years experience in the mining sector as a senior mining analyst and as a specialist corporate broker. He is a founding partner of the natural resources team at Mirabaud Securities, the stockbroker.
