What you need to know before the open – 20/11
European bourses are set to open lower this morning ahead of US retail sales and minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). Investors await the prospect of taper news, after the latest FOMC statement made no mention of shutdown.
We're also expecting the Bank of England minutes this morning, but not with any surprises.
Asian markets shed some gains in trading today, in anticipation of data from the US. The Nikkei dropped 0.3 per cent to 15,076.08, after nearing a six-month high on Monday.
