US jobs data on Friday was something of a surprise in terms of how poor the payrolls report was, but markets seem pretty unperturbed by the news, with European bourses expected positive this morning.

Over in Asia, trading was mixed today, with Japanese markets closed owing to a public holiday.

- Italy industrial output for November at 9.00am.
- Greece CPI for December at 10.00am. Expected at -2.2 per cent from -2.9 per cent year-on-year.
- US monthly budget statement at 7.00pm. Expected at $-15bn from $-135.3bn.
