What you need to know before the open – 10/02
European markets are expected up this morning, following US and Japanese stocks, which have been seen climbing higher.
Guidance is in focus this week as Yellen meets for the first time with US lawmakers tomorrow and Thursday, and Carney delivers the Bank of England’s inflation report on Wednesday.
Over in Asia, the Nikkei made gains on a softer yen as Japanese consumer confidence fell to a 14-month low.

- France industrial output for December at 7.45am. Expected at 0.1 per cent from 1.3 per cent.
- Italy industrial output for December at 9.00am. Expected at 0.0 per cent from 0.3 per cent.
- Eurozone Sentix Investor Confidence for February at 9.30am. Expected at 11.0 from 11.9.
- Canada housing starts for January year-on-year at 1.15pm.
