WHAT WILL THIS WEEK’S INFLATION REPORT SIGNIFY?
PETER DIXON | COMMERZBANK
If the Bank’s growth forecasts are to be believed, the MPC ought logically to be more disposed towards the views of Andrew Sentance than Adam Posen, ie, raise interest rates.
MICHAEL SAUNDERS | CITIGROUP
Now that the policy rate is anchored close to zero, the release of the Inflation Report has become a key guide to the MPC’s future intentions on interest rates and QE.
PHILIP SHAW | INVESTEC
It seems likely that the Bank of England will signal that it remains relatively relaxed over medium-term inflation prospects, although a touch more confident about the economic outlook. Overall we judge that the MPC remains in wait and see mode.
