Wasps Euro hopes stung in Glasgow
WASPS boss Tony Hanks admits his team’s hopes of reaching the Heineken Cup last eight have been slashed by a surprise 20-10 defeat at Glasgow.
A late drop-goal from Ruaridh Jackson denied Wasps a losing bonus point and means their only hope of qualifying next weekend is as one of two best runners-up.
“We’ve made it very difficult to get through; we’re most likely going to have to rely on other results,” said Hanks. “We’ve let down the fans that came up to Glasgow. There’s a good crowd coming to next week’s match, at the minimum we have to respond for them.”
Wasps trail Pool Six leaders Toulouse by six points ahead of Sunday’s meeting between the two sides at Adams Park.
