Villas-Boas urges Adebayor to be patient from the bench
TOTTENHAM manager Andre Villas-Boas has told Emmanuel Adebayor that he remains part of his vision for the club despite his use of Jermain Defoe as the team’s starting striker.
In Adebayor’s regular absence since Villas-Boas’s summer appointment, Defoe has impressed on an uncharacteristically consistent basis yet the Portuguese is insistent that he need only be patient because he believes that his time will come.
“At the moment we haven’t found the comfort in that formation yet, but in the future when we rotate the strikers [Adebayor] will be back in contention,” said Villas-Boas, whose team is tonight away to Maribor in the Europa League and who is likely to recall goalkeeper Hugo Lloris over Brad Friedel.
