United can wait, Carlo tells Blues
ATLETICO MADRID vs CHELSEA
MANAGER Carlo Ancelotti has ordered Chelsea to ignore domestic rivalries and focus solely on tonight’s Champions League trip to Spain.
The Blues are top of the Premier League and welcome Manchester United to Stamford Bridge on Sunday. But Ancelotti is anxious the titanic clash does not prove a distraction as Chelsea look for a win that would seal their place in the last 16.
“Usually all the people think about the game against Manchester United but we have another important game during the week and we want to prepare well,” said Ancelotti. “It is very easy to prepare for Manchester United because it is a very important match, but we need to maintain concentration in the Champions League.”
Chelsea have hit 17 goals without reply in their last four games and Frank Lampard puts their consistency down to their mental approach. “You must have a singular attitude to every game,” he said.
Striker Didier Drogba is available again following his European ban.
