Uber adds another ex-government adviser to its team
Ride-hailing app Uber has added another former government adviser to its staff, with a new addition to its policy team.
Guy Levin, who was a government adviser between 2010 and 2014, has joined the company's policy research team, based in Amsterdam.
Levin, who is moving from his role as executive director at startup policy group Coadec, was previously a special adviser in the department for international development and in the department for culture, media and sport.
He joins former Labour adviser Alex Belardinelli at Uber. Belardinelli joined the group as head of communications for the UK and Ireland in October last year, after a decade in politics.
"For someone fascinated by the intersection of technology and society, I’m excited to join a company where I can have an impact on some of the biggest policy issues of the new economy," Levin wrote in a post on Medium.
