Tigers curse continues as Youngs is to miss autumn internationals
HOOKER Tom Youngs has added to England head coach Stuart Lancaster’s mounting injury woes, after club side Leicester revealed he faces three months on the sidelines following a shoulder operation.
Youngs is the third Leicester forward set to miss the autumn international series, along with Ed Slater and Dan Cole.
There are further concerns too over the condition of club-mate Geoff Parling, who suffered a second concussion in three games at the weekend and will miss Saturday’s match with London Irish.
Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: “Tom carried the ball, Dave Attwood fell on him and there was separation of the joint. I can’t control that.
“The collarbone pings. If it pops out, it’s rest. If it’s unstable, they wire it and it heals over time.
“It’s disappointing because Tom is a world class player and it gives us great impact off the bench with him and Leo Ghiraldini in the squad.
“It’s not ideal when we already have three front-rowers missing.”
