Thierry shows there’s no substitute for class
THIERRY HENRY’S fairytale goalscoring return to Arsenal has enhanced his legend status still further in the red half of north London and I’m sure if he had his way, Arsene Wenger would want to retain the striker’s services for longer than the six-week period agreed in the terms of his loan arrangement.
While the Frenchman isn’t a long-term solution, as is the case with Paul Scholes, another surprise returnee, at Manchester United, he is certainly capable of papering over some pretty alarming cracks in the short-term.
Henry’s return may well put some noses out of joint, but the likes of Ju-Young Park have hardly set the world alight and can hardly complain if he’s to be overlooked in favour of a man with 227 Arsenal goals in the bank.
