THE INSIDER
Many horses find Goodwood very challenging and course form should never be underestimated here. Glorious Goodwood is also a severe test for punters and the key is not having too many bets. I will therefore restrict myself to just one selection today, PISCEAN in the closing 5 furlong handicap at 5.45pm. He won well at Sandown earlier this month, but three of his five career victories have come over this course and distance.
Tomorrow’s Totesport Mile is fiercely competitive, but the draw always plays a big part and stall 21 is just about perfect for WEBBOW. He finished fourth in this race last year and will be running off a 3lb lower mark, so looks great each-way value at around 16/1.
I’ll also be backing Richard Hannon to take another big two-year-old prize in tomorrow’s Richmond Stakes (4.00pm) with LIBRANNO.
Oddschecker.com have just launched an iPhone racing app with loads of different functions. We’ve all seen Paul The Octopus out-do all the World Cup tipsters, so it might be fun to have a go at the ‘Shake and Back’ function, which randomly selects a horse rather like a roulette wheel. The app is available to download for free.
