Tesco hires new clothing chief
TESCO has hired the former head of non-food at J Sainsbury in a bid to revive its £1bn clothing business.
Richard Jones will replace Terry Green as Tesco’s clothing chief – running the clothing business in the UK, as well as taking charge of its home furnishings division.
Green, whose five-year contract for Tesco is coming to an end, is expected to continue to do some consulting work for the supermarket giant.
Green is well known in the retail sector, and was the person credited with turning around Debenhams’ fortunes in the late 1990s.
