Telecomms giant BT Group to name Simon Lowth, who has previously worked for BG Group and AstraZeneca, as new finance chief tomorrow morning
BT Group is set to name Simon Lowth as its new finance chief tomorrow morning.
Lowth was previously finance chief at oil company BG Group before it merged with Royal Dutch Shell earlier this year and, prior to this, he was finance chief at pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.
Lowth also sits on the board of Standard Chartered and has previously worked for Scottish Power and McKinsey & Company.
Sky News, which first reported the story, said that Lowth's appointment would be formally announced on the London Stock Exchange tomorrow morning and he is expected to join the telecomms company this summer.
Lowth is replacing Tony Chanmugam. It was announced that Chanmugam would be retiring last month and executive search firm Egon Zehnder was tasked with finding his replacement.
BT declined to comment.
