Teenage boy charged over bomb hoaxes on US airlines
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with a string of offences including bomb hoaxes made to US airlines and cyber attacks around the world.
The boy, from Plympton in Plymouth, was charged by local police yesterday following an investigation from officers at the Operation Zephyr regional cyber crime unit.
He has been charged with three offences under the Computer Misuse Act, which relate to denial of service (DDos) attacks on websites in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.
He was also charged with two offences under the Criminal Law Act for bomb hoaxes placed with airlines in North America, via social media.
The 15-year-old, who has not been named, has been bailed to appear before Plymouth Youth Court on 18 December.
It follows the arrest of three teenage boys for their suspected involvement in the TalkTalk hack last month.
