Suzanne Evans quits Ukip policy role as “purge of the plotters” continues
Ukip deputy chairman Suzanne Evans will leave Ukip's head office, following MEP Patrick O'Flynn's resignation as the party's economic spokesman.

Some suggested that the pair have suffered for trying to usurp former leader Nigel Farage with rumours circulating online yesterday that she would be pushed out of the role, but Evans moved last night to "strongly refute" the rumours.
Evans was the chief architect of Ukip's 2015 General Election manifesto – a position the party yesterday claimed was never supposed to be a permanent role.
Mark Reckless has been suggested as a potential replacement. In a statement, Ukip said "nothing had been agreed in regard to any future role he may play in the party".
Evans is expected to stay in her voluntary post as Ukip's deputy chairman.
She said:
It has been a great privilege to work with Ukip for the past four months to produce the 2015 General Election manifesto. I was delighted with the way it was received, especially by party members and supporters. While my contract for that work comes to an end next week, I remain in my voluntary post as deputy chairman.
