Strauss bemoans England’s injury list as Clarke steers Aussies home
ENGLAND captain Andrew Strauss blamed his side’s ever increasing injury list for their latest one-day defeat Down Under.
Strauss revealed he intends to go into the upcoming World Cup with a six-man attack, but that will depend on Graeme Swann, Tim Bresnan and Stuart Broad returning to fitness. England were effectively a bowler light as they unsuccessfully attempted to defend 333-6, with Michael Clarke’s 82 guiding his side to a 5-1 series lead in Sydney.
Strauss said:“There are going to be two spinners involved [at the World Cup] and that allows you to play with six bowlers. It’s very frustrating with the injuries because it was a top-notch batting performance.”
