Stock Exchange Dinner beats the competition
THE annual Stock Exchange Veterans’ Dinner saw a huge turnout at the St Paul’s Grange Hotel last night, despite competing with several corporate events in the same building.
Last night saw a whopping 37 banks, businesses and firms put on their glad rags for a night of glamour, gourmet cuisine and generosity at the annual Stock Exchange Veterans’ Dinner.
City workers from Investec, Shore Capital, The London Stock Exchange and even London drinks chain Harry’s Bar came out of the office to celebrate the City’s biggest party of the year.
Despite sharing the hotel with another four events, including a financial seminar and an executive dinner by software company Forgerock, the Veterans’ Dinner saw hundreds of brokers, old and new, out in force.
Since 1990 the Veterans’ Dinner has raised over £500,000 for local charities including childrens charities Action for Kids and Chicks.
Les Ames, ex-chair and life president at the Stock Exchange Veterans, said: “The dinner and the organisation has a loyal following, and it’s not just veterans. We need young ones to continue the work.” Cheers to that.
