SPOTLIGHT ON SMALL CAPS
VIDEO telecommunications firm Scotty Group revealed a mixed bag of news yesterday as its shares fell 13.9 per cent to 59p on Aim. Scotty updated the market on contract timing delays but was upbeat on the signing of a new? 8m (£6.9m) contract with Eurocopter.
The small cap resources sector was as active as ever. Timan Oil and Gas saw its shares temporarily suspended from Aim after it said the publication of its 2008 results would be delayed from June until August.
Plexus Holdings closed up 16.9 per cent to 34.5p after signing a £1.2m agreement with Red Sea Petroleum Operating Company (RSPOC) to supply exploration systems for wells being drilled in the Red Sea. And Dwyka Resources rose 7.8 per cent to 6.88p after it received further backing from 2.3 per cent shareholder Golden Prospect Precious Metals for its bid approach for rival Minerva, taking support for the deal to 44.9 per cent of the shareholders.
