Smokehouses will be hot item in Britain next year, says BDO
A BOOM in smokehouses and barbecues are among the restaurant predictions for 2015, according to advisory firm BDO.
In its annual forecast, released today, BDO said this year saw “the continuing rise of the burger, [and] in 2015 we expect new concepts and roll outs in the smoke and barbecue world to have a great year.
“Brands like Bodean’s, Red’s True Barbecue, Porky’s and Jackson & Rye will continue to grow, building on strong and smokey US flavours.”
At the same time – and somewhat ironically – the advisory firm believes that healthy eating trends will continue to grow, too.
It said: “The obesity crisis is all around us and this will continue to drive ending into offerings which can cater for health and value for money. Concepts focusing on juices, soups, sushi and salads now have a huge part of the grab-and-go market in London. The challenge is to take these brands outside the M25.”
