Sloan backs Quins to win Sevens and make strong start to season
TEENAGER Harry Sloan hopes to maintain a winning habit and help Harlequins to victory in the J.P Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby Sevens Series finals tonight at Bath.
The 19-year-old centre was part of the England Under-20s team that won the IRB Junior World Championship title last summer, with a try-scoring performance against hosts South Africa.
And Sloan has urged his team-mates to start their season with a bang at The Rec.
“We see this tournament as a benchmark for the rest of the season to come so it is really good for us to set the mark of what we want to be achieving this season,” he said.
“The Sevens does help you for your XVs development. There is a lot more space, it’s more open, you can get your hands on the ball and you can show off some skills that perhaps you wouldn’t normally see in the XVs, so to show that to the coaches is important.”
