Sir Win Bischoff adds reinforcements to the board at Lloyds Banking Group…
LLOYDS Banking Group yesterday appointed two new non-executive directors, the first board appointments since Sir Win Bischoff became chairman of the reviving institution.
Glen Moreno, the current chairman of Pearson, becomes the group’s senior independent director.
Moreno has significant experience in the banking industry, having held a number of positions at Citigroup between 1969 and 1987 before becoming chief executive of Fidelity International between 1987 and 1991.
David Roberts, the second appointee, held a number of senior positions at Barclays between 1983 and 2006.
Both Moreno and Roberts were interviewed by members of the Financial Service Authority’s Significant Influence Function (SIF) panel.
Both will stand for election, as is the case with all new board appointments, at the company’s annual meeting later this year.
The appointments follow the departure from the board of a number of directors, including Philip Green and Carolyn McCall.
