Silicon Valley comes to London
THE CAPITAL’S leading investors and entrepreneurs will gather today for the start of Disrupt, a US tech startup conference coming to London for the first time. At Disrupt, which counts Dropbox and Fitbit among its alumni, 150 startups will show off their creations to fund managers from the largest European and US venture capital firms, including Index Ventures and Balderton Capital. The two-day show at Old Billingsgate Market culminates with 16 startups pitching to judges in the hope of winning £30,000 in prize money and, maybe, securing a crucial first round of investment from an angel investor.
