Shoreditch set for £75m facelift
PLANS were submitted this week to regenerate a site in London’s East End that has lain derelict for more than 30 years into a new £75m commercial hub.
The proposed scheme, known as Shoreditch Village, will create 150,000 square feet of commercial-led space, including a 180-bed hotel, 20,000 sq ft of offices, 42,000 sq ft of shops, restaurants and a covered food market.
The site, which is next to Shoreditch High Street station and under a part of the railway viaduct, has been privately owned by two families since the 1970s.
Dominic White, a former Knight Frank partner and a co-owner of the project said they were close to signing a hotel operator and talks with several restaurant groups were taking place.
EllisMiller Architects are designing the scheme.
