Shire appoints Smith & Nephew chief executive to board
BIO-PHARMA firm Shire is set to welcome Smith & Nephew chief executive Olivier Bohuon to its board of directors from 1 July it was announced yesterday.
In addition, Bohuon is to join the company’s science and technology committee.
Bohuon is the chief executive of medical equipment manufacturing firm Smith & Nephew and is currently a non-executive director of Virbac group.
Shire chairman Susan Kilsby commented on the new appointment: “Olivier Bohuon further enriches the Shire board of directors, bringing direct experience and deep knowledge of pharmaceuticals and healthcare in today’s fast-changing global environment as well as executive and board leadership in dynamic industries such as medical technology.”
Bohuon has an MBA from HEC Paris School of Management as well as a doctorate in pharmacy.
