Santa fills stockings with market board game
THE Capitalist wonders just how many City stockings were stuffed on Christmas morning with copies of financial board game Market Meltdown?
The new toy from Clarendon Games challenges players, in their role as traders, to stay afloat as they move round the board in a private jet and generate cash by spin of the roulette wheel. Those with a high risk threshold are tempted to rake in the big bucks by “going rogue”.
One enthusiastic player and president of St James’s Place Wealth Management, Sir Mark Weinberg, told The Capitalist that he needed to gamble more aggressively: “It’s not an exact analogy to the financial crisis but it does conjure up the feeling of sitting there worrying about where you can bet your money.”
Sure to be coming to a dinner party table near you soon.
