Sanofi-Aventis sales up 3.8pc
French drugmaker Sanofi-Aventis beat forecasts for fourth-quarter profit and expects
earnings to rise 2 to 5 per cent this year as growth areas such as vaccines offset stronger competition from generic rivals. Sales rose 3.8 per cent to €7.36bn (£67.5bn) against expectations for €7.37bn, bolstered by swine flu vaccines – a one-off benefit that should
last until the end of this quarter.
