Ryanair business class targets no-frills corporate travellers
In its latest attempt to expand its no-frillls image – and boost its bottom line – Ryanair has announced plans to offer a business class service on flights.
For the bargain price of £59.99, Ryanair Business Plus will offer corporate travellers flexible ticket changes, 20kg baggage allowance, priority boarding and premium seats.
The low-cost carrier says a quarter of existing passengers are already flying for business reasons, but the new service is unlikely to challenge the luxury business class experiences of some of the international carriers’ flat beds and free champagne.
It’s the latest step in the airline's makeover, which has placed a friendlier focus on customers and services such as allocated seating and mobile boarding passes.
“This launch of Ryanair Business Plus… will make business travel with Ryanair ever simpler, as we continue to offer so much more than just the lowest fares,”said Ryanair’s chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs.
