Royal Mail set to trial an evening delivery service
EVENING deliveries are being trialled by Royal Mail, as the post operator looks to offer consumers more choice over the way they receive goods purchased online.
London homes within the M25 motorway will be eligible for the new service, which enables shoppers at selected retailers to ask for items to be delivered between 6pm and 10pm.
The operator has joined up with House of Fraser and beauty product specialist L’Occitane to offer evening delivery on goods purchased online as part of a six-month trial.
Internet shopping has continued to grow, with annual sales predictions of £56bn this year, according to IMRG, the industry association for e-commerce.
A recent study by Royal Mail showed 58 per cent of people said they would shop more online if there were more flexible delivery options.
