Romsdal given late Derby entry
JOHN Gosden-trained three-year-old Romsdal has been handed a late entry for Saturday’s Investec Derby.
Connections forked out £75,000 to supplement the colt for the Epsom Classic, for which he was one of 17 remaining at the latest declaration stage yesterday.
Romsdal was beaten by Orchestra, one of four Aidan O’Brien-trained horses set to contest the Derby, in a photo-finish in the Chester Vase last month.
He is Gosden’s second entry, with the unbeaten Western Hymn also in the field.
Orchestra’s stablemate Australia heads the field as O’Brien aims to land his third consecutive success in the race and a fifth overall.
