Regulation is the top risk to global business
UNCERTAINTY around regulation and compliance is the main risk to businesses throughout the world, a survey by Ernst and Young revealed today.
While British companies ranked the need to cut costs as their main concern, regulations were the main concern for banking firms in the UK.
The expansion of government was considered a greater threat by banks than in any other sector, Ernst and Young said.
Price pressures, meanwhile, were considered the third highest risk among UK companies, and fourth highest in the global survey.
“We are seeing a new set of threats,” said Ernst and Young’s Gerard Gallagher, “including pricing pressures where firms seeking rapid growth must take it from competitors and price aggressively.”
