Quins warned Warriors battle won’t be easy
HARLEQUINS centre Tom Casson has warned his team-mates to be wary of a backlash from out-of-form Worcester Warriors in tonight’s Aviva Premiership clash.
Quins win last time out at Sixways was part of Worcester’s current seven-game losing streak that will represent their worst run in six years should that be extended to eight tonight.
However, Quins have made an indifferent start to the season themselves with a narrow win over Wasps followed by defeat to Northampton and Casson admits they simply have to take Worcester seriously.
“You always see Worcester away as a really tough contest,” said Casson.
“We see them being very physical and hard working. There is going to be a lot of graft and they have a never give up attitude. In no way would you ever get complacent against them. They will try to destabilise our ball and get into our rucks and try to prevent our fast play.
“We know what we have to do. We just have to execute it.”
Worcester’s woes are nothing compared to Wasps’, who also go on the road to Sale tonight, bidding to bring to an end a run of 10 straight defeats in all competitions.
Meanwhile, London Irish wing Marland Yarde has vowed to put uncertainty over a new contract to the back of his mind and continue his fine start to the season against Exeter tomorrow.
“I am just focusing on playing as well as I can for London Irish,” he said. “The contract stuff will look after itself.”
Elsewhere, Saracens are the pick of the London clubs with two wins from two and entertain Bath on Sunday.
