Prudential RideLondon 2016: New 46-mile sportive for young riders unveiled by Sir Bradley Wiggins
A record number of riders are expected to jump on their bikes and participate in this year's Prudential RideLondon event, which will include a new challenge unveiled by Sir Bradley Wiggins.
Over 100,000 riders are expected to take part in the July event, with a new 46-mile sportive created for newer and younger cyclists.
The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 46, announced by Wiggins today, starts at the Queen Elizabeth Park in Stratford and finishes on the Mall in front of Buckingham Palace.
"This is a fantastic event for new and young riders," said Wiggins.
"46 miles is still a challenge but it's also a great introduction to cycling on traffic-free roads and it's a wonderful way to ride your first sportive.
"Prudential RideLondon has truly inspired tens of thousands to get on a bike and ride. I believe this festival of cycling is the most successful legacy of London 2012 and it's amazing to see it grow and grow each year."
Prudential RideLondon 2016 takes place in London and Surrey on 30-31 July.
