Profit falls for Mattel’s Barbie girl in a Barbie World
The world’s largest toymaker Mattel reported its third straight fall in quarterly revenue yesterday as sales of its iconic Barbie doll declined the most since mid-2009.
Mattel’s profit more than halved to $28.3m (£16.5m) in the quarter from $73.3m a year earlier. Revenues fell nine per cent to $1.06bn, below expectations of $1.19bn.
