Powell to miss Scotland game through injury
WALES’ No8 Andy Powell has been ruled out of Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations clash against Scotland at Murrayfield because of a shoulder injury.
Powell picked up the knock during Friday’s defeat against England and was replaced by former captain Ryan Jones, who is likely to step in again.
The Wasps star joins the likes of Adam Jones, Gethin Jenkins, Leigh Halfpenny, George North and Tom Shanklin on a lengthy casualty list, but winger Morgan Stoddart is likely to feature despite breaking a bone in his hand during the Cardiff opener.
Meanwhile, Ireland winger Tommy Bowe has been ruled out of contention for Sunday’s clash with France.
Bowe, who missed Saturday’s last-gasp 13-11 victory over Italy in Rome, has been omitted from an extended squad as he continues his rehabilitation from a knee injury.
