In pictures: One minute silence for Tunisia attack victims observed around the UK

Businesses around the UK paused for a minute at midday today, as people up and down the country remembered the 38 victims of the Tunisia attack.

Ceremonies were held in Strathclyde, where the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were, and David Cameron's constituency of Witney, as well as Sousse, where the terror attack took place.

Police officers and other emergency services observed the minute's silence, as did workers in the City of London's Guildhall.

Businesses such as Virgin Trains also noted the moment in rememberance of the murdered tourists.

Travel agents Thomson and First Choice, who have confirmed the 30 Britons killed in the attack were their customers, issued a statement saying they were “deeply shocked and truly saddened” by the events.

In Birmingham, where several of the victims lived, silence was observed in the town centre. Owen Richards, whose brother Joel, uncle Adrian Evans and his grandfather Patrick Evans were killed joined crowds outside Walsall football club with his mother Suzy Evans.
