No problems with Nasri’s attitude
ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger has praised the attitude of his unsettled midfield star Samir Nasri.
The France international is stalling on signing an extension to his contract, which expires next summer, amid significant interest from Manchester United and Manchester City.
he 24-year-old featured as a second half substitute in Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Malaysia yesterday and Wenger claimed Nasri hasn’t been destabilised by the constant speculation surrounding his future.
“He has always had a very good attitude,” said Wenger. “We are a big club with many good young players so we are confronted with many rumours and speculation. But it doesn’t affect much what’s happening inside the club. We have to live with that and you could see when he [Samir] played that he wasn’t disturbed by that.”
Wenger is also convinced that his board will back him in his Nasri stance, despite the very real threat of losing the former Marseille star on a free transfer next summer.
He added: “I think so, I believe that is no problem. It is a technical decision. On one hand people say I don’t spend enough and when I spend people say I spend too much. It’s very difficult to find the right medium.”
Arsenal kicked-off their pre-season campaign in emphatic style in Kuala Lumpur with goals from Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott, Carlos Vela and Tomas Rosicky.
